Pigeon and Clock Tower wallpaper

By Edward Bawden

'Pigeon and Clock Tower' is one of a series of wallpapers by Edward Bawden which will form part of our St Jude's Studio Archive range.

St Jude's have been producing fabrics and wallpapers designed by contemporary artists since 2005, but last year saw the launch of the first of a series of designs by mid-twentieth century artists, Sheila Robinson's 'Monkeys and Birds'.

Over the next 18 months, we'll be adding a selection of wallpapers created by Edward Bawden (1903-1989) to our St Jude's Studio Archive range, reissuing classic designs (some never previously commercially produced) by a number of twentieth-century designers.

Shown here are two photographs of Edward Bawden's former home in Saffron Walden, taken shortly after the artist's death in 1989. A series of these photographs feature in our book, Edward Bawden At Home - A Working Life. You might have seen an article on our wallpapers and this new book in the June edition of World of Interiors magazine.
