Monkeys and Birds wallpaper

By Sheila Robinson

'Monkeys and Birds' by printmaker Sheila Robinson (1925-1988) is a 3 colour wallpaper, originating from her linocut blocks, designed in 1958 and printed by hand to decorate the walls of Cage Cottage, the family home in Great Bardfield.

A chapter profiling Sheila's work features in 'Bawden, Ravilious and the Artists of Great Bardfield' published by the V&A.

As well as the original Rose/Grey Parma colourway, we've worked closely with Sheila’s daughter, the printmaker and painter Chloë Cheese to create two additional colour ways.

Colourway: Blue/Deco Green (photographs of other colourways are included for reference)

Printed width: 52cm
Pattern repeat: 53cm (half drop)
Paper: Standard
Hanging method: Paste the paper
Roll length: 10m

Please note: This design originates from original linocut elements by Sheila Robinson and as with many St. Jude’s designs the texture of these hand printed elements may well be reflected in this wallpaper.
