Painswick fabric

Colourway: Dark Umber/Pale Blue

Painswick by Ed Kluz was developed from an original collage inspired by the Rococo Garden at Painswick, Gloucestershire. Printed in duck egg, chartreuse and dark umber brown on oyster linen union, the design draws upon the garden’s geometric planting, terraces, avenues and ornamental follies, first laid out in the 1740s by Benjamin Hyett. The Red House, Exedra, Eagle House and Gothick Alcove appear as decorative motifs among laurel branches and starbursts that reference the playful patterns of eighteenth-century wall decoration. Curated as part of the St Jude’s collection of artist-designed fabrics.
